The Wide Rectangle Table seats 10 guests on an extra-wide surface, supplied undressed. Width is what you are paying the extra KSh 300 for over the standard rectangular table, and it decides what the table can actually carry. A 2ft-wide table gives each guest a place setting and leaves a narrow strip down the middle — enough for a runner, not enough for centrepieces, water, wine and serving dishes without crowding plates. A wide table gives you a genuine centre channel, so full place settings and a run of decor coexist rather than compete. That matters at a sit-down meal and is largely irrelevant at a, so choose on what the table has to hold rather than on how many people sit at it. It also seats 10 against 8, so for a large sit-down event fewer tables cover the same guest list — worth running the numbers, since ten wide tables at KSh 700 seat 100 guests where thirteen standard tables at KSh 400 are needed for the same.
